Principal's Message

Dear Parent/ Guardian,

It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and a new school year is upon us. We are excited about the upcoming year and ready to get started. Our campus theme again for the 2023-2024 school year is “Level Up”. This year will be full of learning adventures as we work to strive to be the best that we can be.

To make sure the beginning of the year goes smoothly, here are some things you need to know:

We will have “Meet The Teacher Night” on August 10th from 4:00 to 6:00. We did purchase most of the school supplies for the students, but please bring any school supplies when you attend.

School doors open at 7:15 AM, school starts at 7:45 AM, and school ends at 3:21 PM. In the morning and afternoon, all car rider and bus rider students will enter on Stadium drive from Brule drive and enter the building through the cafeteria doors. Parents will then exit on Brosig Ave. During dismissal, if your child is a car rider, please bring your blue car rider tag to be scanned every afternoon. If you do not get those on meet the teacher they will be sent home with your student on the 1st day of school. We will only have car riders and bus riders. There will be no walk-ups. This is to ensure the safety of our PK- 5th-grade students. This means that your student must either ride a bus or ride in a car to and from school each day. Parents will not be permitted to “walk-up” and get a student during dismissal. If you will be picking your student up early or changing the way he or she will leave school be sure to do so before 2:30 p.m. Also, please note that bus routes will not go to both Brule and John C. Webb Elementary campuses. For questions regarding buses call Goldstar at (936) 825-1813.

Parents will only be allowed in our building to walk their students to their classrooms on the first day of school. You must have your ID to check-in. We will check in in the cafeteria from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. You will not be allowed to walk your student to their classrooms without an ID. After the first day parents will not be allowed to walk their students to class in the morning. If you need to visit with the office staff or drop something off after the first day of school, please go to the front office after you have dropped your student off in the car rider line. Mrs. Leggett or Mrs. Carpentier will be available in the front every morning, if needed. If you need to visit with your child’s teacher, it is important to make an appointment or call during their conference time.

Brule Elementary encourages parents to come and eat lunch with their students. Please adhere to the following guidelines when visiting your child for lunch to ensure the safety of all students at Brule.

1.Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors must check-in at the front office before having lunch with a student. Parents will not be allowed to eat lunch with their student without and ID. Please bring one every time.

2. Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors may bring lunch for the students they are having lunch with, but not for other students.
3. Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors may only have lunch with the student they are visiting.

4. Lunch visitors other than the student’s parent or guardian, such as extended family, friends, etc. must have a parent or guardian permission to have lunch with a student in writing.

5. Parents/Guardians will sit with their child at a designated visitor table in the cafeteria.

***Please note, lunch visitation will be closed the first week of school to allow the teaching and implementation of cafeteria procedures and processes.***

Again this school year, registration for all students will be done online. You can log on to navasotaisd.org, click “About Us”, and then go to student enrollment. If your student has a medical concern that must be addressed on the first day of school as well as during the school year, please contact the school so that we can immediately document this information and complete the appropriate medical forms as well as inform your child’s teachers.

Es difícil creer que el verano casi ha terminado y se acerca un nuevo año escolar. Estamos entusiasmados con el próximo año y listos para comenzar. El tema de nuestro campus nuevamente para el año escolar 2023-2024 es "Subir de nivel". Este año estará lleno de aventuras de aprendizaje mientras trabajamos para esforzarnos por ser lo mejor que podemos ser.

Para asegurarse de que el comienzo del año transcurra sin problemas, aquí hay algunas cosas que debe saber:

Tendremos la “Noche de Conozca al Maestro” el 10 de agosto de 4:00 a 6:00. Compramos la mayoría de los útiles escolares para los estudiantes, pero traiga los útiles escolares cuando asista.
