Dear Parents/ Guardians,
It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and a new school year is upon us. We are excited about the upcoming year and ready to get started. Our campus theme for the 2026-2027 school year is Every Learner. Every Day. Whatever it Takes. This year will be another year full of learning adventures as we work to strive to be the best that we can be. Our goal is to make sure that we are creating memorable experiences for all our students every day so that we can be a part of their future legacy.
To make sure the beginning of the year goes smoothly, here are some things you need to know:
Unfortunately, due to construction, we will not be having Meet the Teacher this year. Parents will be able to see their child's teacher in Skyward by Thursday, August 6th. We will have a Popsicles on the Playground event on July 30th from 4 PM to 6 PM. (see more information below) Please bring any school supplies on the first day of school on August 10th.
School doors open at 7:05 AM, school starts at 7:30 AM, and school ends at 3:10 PM. In the morning and afternoon, all car rider and bus rider students will enter on Stadium Drive from Brule Drive and enter the building through the cafeteria doors. Parents will then exit on Brosig Ave. During dismissal, if your child is a car rider, please bring your car rider tag every afternoon. They will be sent home with your student on the 1st day of school. We will only have car riders and bus riders. There will be no walk-ups. This is to ensure the safety of our PK- 5th-grade students. This means that your student must either ride a bus or ride in a car to and from school each day. Parents will not be permitted to “walk-up” and get a student during dismissal. If you will be picking your student up early or changing the way he or she will leave school, be sure to do so before 2:30 p.m. Also, please note that bus routes will not go to both Brule and John C. Webb Elementary campuses. For questions regarding buses, call Goldstar at (936) 825-1813.
Parents will only be allowed in our building to walk their students to their classrooms on the first day of school. You must have your ID to check-in by the entrance doors by the music room and cafeteria. Mrs. Leggett will check IDs from 7:05 AM to 7:30 AM. You will not be allowed to walk your student to their classrooms without an ID. Also, on the first day of school we will have our Annual Tears & Cheers breakfast hosted by our Counselor. We will have light refreshments and school and community resources available. Please stop by on your way out of the building. After the first day, parents will not be allowed to walk their students to class in the morning unless your child does not start on the first day of school. If that is the case, please visit the office so that you can get a badge to walk your child to their classroom. If you need to visit with the office staff or drop something off after the first day of school, please go to the front office after you have dropped your student off in the car rider line. Mrs. Leggett or Mrs. Carpentier will be available in the car rider line every morning, if needed. If you need to visit with your child’s teacher, it is important to make an appointment or call during their conference time.

Brule Elementary encourages parents to come and eat lunch with their students. Please adhere to the following guidelines when visiting your child for lunch to ensure the safety of all students at Brule.
- Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors must check in at the front office before having lunch with a student. Parents will not be allowed to eat lunch with their student without an ID. Please bring one every time.
- Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors may bring lunch for the students they are having lunch with, but not for other students.
- Parents/ Guardians and other lunch visitors may only have lunch with the student they are visiting.
- Lunch visitors other than the student’s parent or guardian, such as extended family, friends, etc., must have a parent or guardian's permission to have lunch with a student in writing.
- Parents/Guardians will sit with their child at a designated visitor table in the cafeteria.
***Please note, lunch visitation will be closed the first month of school to allow the teaching and implementation of cafeteria procedures and processes. We will allow parents/guardians to eat with their students after Labor Day (September 7th)***

Again this school year, registration for all students will be done online. All returning students must complete online registration in Skyward. You can log on to navasotaisd.org, click “About Us”, and then go to student enrollment. If your student has a medical concern that must be addressed on the first day of school as well as during the school year, please contact the school so that we can immediately document this information and complete the appropriate medical forms as well as inform your child’s teachers.
To stay current on things happening at our campus, be sure to read our campus and grade-level monthly newsletters that will be shared out on social media and via email. You can also follow us on our Facebook page “Brule Elementary School” , on X "@BruleElementary," and visit the navasotaisd.org website or app and find our page under the Schools tab. Also, please sign up to be a part of our PTO at the booth during the 1st Day of school and sign up for our Remind messages using the included instructions page to get reminders and information.

Es difícil creer que el verano casi termina y que el nuevo año escolar está a punto de comenzar. Estamos entusiasmados con el próximo año y listos para empezar. El lema de nuestro campus para el año escolar 2026-2027 es: Cada estudiante. Cada día. Cueste lo que cueste. Este año estará lleno de aventuras de aprendizaje mientras nos esforzamos por ser lo mejor que podemos ser. Nuestro objetivo es asegurarnos de crear experiencias memorables para todos nuestros estudiantes cada día, para que podamos ser parte de su futuro.
Para que el inicio del año transcurra sin problemas, aquí hay algunas cosas que deben saber:
Lamentablemente, debido a las obras, no tendremos la reunión de padres y maestros este año. Los padres podrán ver al maestro de su hijo/a en Skyward a partir del jueves 6 de agosto. Tendremos un evento de paletas heladas en el patio el 30 de julio de 4:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m. (Ver más información a continuación) Por favor, traigan los útiles escolares el primer día de clases, el 10 de agosto.
Las puertas de la escuela abren a las 7:05 a. m., las clases comienzan a las 7:30 a. m. y terminan a las 3:10 p. m. Por la mañana y por la tarde, todos los estudiantes que llegan en auto o autobús entrarán por Stadium Drive desde Brule Drive y accederán al edificio por la puerta de la cafetería. Los visitantes que no sean el padre, madre o tutor legal del estudiante, como familiares, amigos, etc., deben contar con la autorización por escrito de un padre, madre o tutor legal para almorzar con el estudiante.
Los padres/tutores legales se sentarán con su hijo/a en una mesa designada para visitantes en la cafetería.
***Tenga en cuenta que las visitas durante el almuerzo estarán suspendidas durante el primer mes de clases para permitir la enseñanza e implementación de los procedimientos de la cafetería. Se permitirá que los padres/tutores legales almuercen con sus hijos después del Día del Trabajo (7 de septiembre).***
